Erin Dand

Executive search expert Erin Dand is a Principal at Pekarsky & Co., where she focuses on providing search solutions to clients in a variety of industries. As a former transactional lawyer in the oil & gas industry with a background in finance, Erin has particular expertise in conducting executive searches in the legal, energy and financial industries. She has a deep understanding of her clients and prospective candidates, as well as the skills that are critical to success in a particular role.

Erin has a strong work ethic and strives to achieve excellence in everything that she does, including executive search. She has exceptional research and analytical skills, which she largely attributes to her training in finance and law. An “A-Type” personality to the core, Erin leaves no stone unturned when it comes to finding a potential candidate.

Erin grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan, where her dad still operates the family grain farm. The eldest of four kids, she has always enjoyed being around people. But after growing up in what Erin describes as “the middle of nowhere”, she was determined to see and learn about people from all around the world.

Erin has lived across Canada, as well as in France, India, Italy, Israel and Hong Kong during her life and educational pursuits. As a result, her network spans not only across Canada, but across the globe. These connections allow Erin to dig deep and uncover potential candidates that even an extensive search on LinkedIn could not have found.

Confidentiality is the cornerstone of executive search. As a member of the Law Society of Alberta, Erin holds herself to the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity, honesty and professional conduct.

Erin holds a Bachelor of Commerce, High Honours in Finance with Great Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan and a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University.

She actively volunteers in many areas of her church and with several professional organizations. Her professional and community endeavours were recognized when she was named one of the “Top 35 under 35” in Canada’s energy sector in the July 2016 edition of Alberta Oil magazine.

When Erin is not in the office, she can be found cycling around town, planning her next dinner party with friends, listening to swing music or wearing a fabulous hat.

“My philosophy to search? Be respectful. Be thorough. Be kind. And above all, treat others the way that you would like to be treated. It’s that simple.”

– Erin

“With several offers on the table and tight deadlines to respond, Erin understood the sensitivity of my circumstances and arranged to meet me the next day. Erin took the time to understand my career goals and ensured the opportunities considered would advance my career. Having worked as a transaction lawyer in a national law firm, Erin has a profound understanding of the cultures, personalities and nuances of many of the large Calgary firms. I was confident Erin was committed to serving my interests and ensuring both sides were a good a fit. Within days she was able to arrange for an interview with a top tier national firm.”
