Christine DeWitt came to Pekarsky & Co. after spending the first several years of her career practising law. Christine is enthusiastic and outgoing, and finds true joy in working with people and solving problems. This disposition combined with the focus, work ethic and strategic thinking she developed in law makes her an invaluable asset to Pekarsky & Co. and its clients.
Born and raised in Edmonton with French Canadian roots, Christine’s notorious impatience caused her to leave the University of Alberta’s Faculté Saint-Jean before completing her undergraduate degree to pursue early admission to law school. In 2008 Christine earned an LL.B. from l’Université de Moncton, graduating at the top of her class. In her years of law practice she gained valuable experience working primarily in the areas of administrative law, municipal law, and education law, and lovingly laboured on varied legislative reform projects both from within and outside of government. Christine remains a member of the Law Society of Alberta, and carries with her the high standards and values of professionalism, honesty, and integrity associated with that membership.
Christine also has a passion for comedy. She is a cast member of the Edmonton institution Rapid Fire Theatre, where you can find her every Friday night performing with many of the city’s funniest and most talented improvisors and comedians. She also occasionally writes for the national CBC Radio sketch comedy program, The Irrelevant Show, and teaches improv to teens once a week just for fun.
Christine’s personal, professional and civic accomplishments were recognized when she was named one of Edmonton’s Top 40 Under 40 by Avenue Magazine in October 2014.
When not working or perfecting her comedic timing, Christine spends time with her husband Sean and their adorable geriatric rescue dog Lucky, and is the keeper of her grandmother’s secret gingersnap recipe.
