Since its incorporation in 1906 and still to this day, our client, The Canadian Angus Association (CAA), has been responsible for the registration of 100% purebred Canadian Angus, the maintenance of the breed’s integrity and expansion of its genetics worldwide. The CAA has worked hard to ensure the recognition and sustainment of this remarkable breed’s excellence in quality throughout the international market. The Association’s membership base is comprised of passionate, knowledgeable and exemplary breeders of Angus cattle with their commitment to their herd and the breed as a whole represented and emulated through the CAA.

The CAA has the potential to be an industry front runner in the future of the Angus breed worldwide and as a result, the Board of Directors is seeking a proactive and innovative Chief Executive Officer to redefine and ultimately deliver profitability across the organization and champion new ideas and processes to progress the organization beyond purely the registration of Angus cattle, which will always remain at its core. The CEO will be responsible for leading the development of strong strategic partnerships with packers, other cattle associations and government agencies to ensure the long-term prosperity of the industry. Working in partnership with members of the Board, the CEO will define and execute the CAA’s Strategic Plan, establish operational and financial performance objectives and maintain high levels of membership satisfaction through effective and transparent communication and engagement.

The successful candidate will bring the principles of integrity, honesty and humility which align with the CAA’s values and beliefs. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership capacity. A proven track record of success in driving organizational growth objectives, as well as maintaining strong financial and operational performance (including Lean Process Improvement) is also key. Agricultural industry experience would be considered highly advantageous.
