Epilepsy Association of Calgary, Executive Director (WR: 483)
Our client, the Epilepsy Association of Calgary (EAC), is a charitable organization established to address community, individual and family needs related to epilepsy. Founded in 1955 and one of Canada’s oldest organizations dedicated to epilepsy, the EAC’s mission is to support independence, quality of life and community participation of persons with and affected by epilepsy.
We have partnered with the EAC in its search for its next Executive Director. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director assumes a key leadership position with the EAC, having overall responsibility for the management of the organization.
The EAC is at a pivotal moment in its history. With an engaged Board of Directors, the organization is seeking to undertake a transformation, expanding and reshaping its current programming and growing its community reach. Under the leadership of the new Executive Director, the EAC will aim to reach more individuals and families affected by epilepsy and to continue fighting the stigma associated with epilepsy in Calgary.
The EAC’s next Executive Director will:
- Have a minimum of 5 years senior leadership experience in a not-for-profit, ideally at the Executive Director level
- Have a background in health, social services or human services
- Have a mature level of management and operational experience
- Be a demonstrated “builder” with a track record of success growing an organization
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong public speaking skills
- Have a track record of success being actively involved with the fund development function and understand the vital role it plays in a not-for-profit organization
If you are an energetic, self-starting leader, please reach out to Erin Dand at [email protected] or 403-407-1966 for more information about this exciting opportunity.
