Reporting to the Vice President of Labour & Employee Relations, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic labour and employee relations advice, guidance and direction to senior operations management. A strong leadership presence and acumen is a must to enable the coaching and development of a highly skilled team of senior HR professionals. The Labour & Employee relations group is responsible for the full scope of a large and complex business unit within an even larger asset portfolio.

The expectations of this position include developing and executing labour and bargaining strategies, leading all aspects of the grievance process, acting as the lead negotiator on a bargaining team, and advising on strategic labour and employee relations matters to senior and executive teams.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in industrial/labour relations or human resource management, ideally with an advanced degree in labour or industrial relations. A minimum of 15 years of labour relations experience in an industrial, unionized environment combined with experience as lead negotiator for complex collective bargaining is essential for the role.
