We have partnered with Vibrant Communities Calgary (VCC) in the search for a new Executive Director.

 

About VCC & The Enough for All Strategy

 

VCC is a not-for-profit community collaborative working to reduce poverty in Calgary. VCC is the steward of the Enough for All strategy in Calgary. Enough for All is Calgary’s community-driven poverty reduction strategy, which is based on 15,000 hours of consultation with citizens, the business community, government, non-profits and academia. Since 2015, VCC has worked as the steward and “backbone” organization to support implementation of the Enough for All strategy based on a multi-year agreement with the City of Calgary, United Way of Calgary & Area and Momentum. As a community collaborative, VCC works with many community stakeholders in Calgary to coordinate implementation of this strategy and to advocate to address the root causes of poverty in Calgary.

 

The Executive Director Role

 

VCC is seeking an experienced leader with a passion for improving the community by reducing poverty. Reporting to VCC’s Board of Directors, the Executive Director will lead the VCC staff team to steward implementation of the Enough for All strategy. This will involve aligning and leveraging the work of hundreds of organizations and community members to reduce poverty in Calgary.

 

The successful candidate will be a humble leader who appreciates the value of collaboration and building relationships. He or she will be articulate and a strong communicator who can serve as the “chief storyteller” for poverty reduction efforts in Calgary – highlighting progress made and challenges remaining. This person will have an ability to catalyze action, make connections and build trust to get things done.
