Erin Dand is a Client Partner at Pekarsky & Co. where she leads executive search mandates across a wide variety of industries and functional roles. As a recovering corporate lawyer, she brings particular expertise leading legal-related searches. She also regularly leads executive searches in many other industries, including not-for-profit, tourism & hospitality, professional and financial services, oil & gas and transportation, to name a few.
Erin is also a part of the Pekarsky & Co. Leadership Development consulting team and loves delving into human capital challenges, whether relating to equity, diversity & inclusion, succession planning, retention, leadership, strategic planning, or building culture.
Erin is a problem solver and a lifelong learner at heart. Her fascination with business, organizations and people has led her to spend the better part of a decade in school. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Honours in Finance with Great Distinction from the University of Saskatchewan and a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University. She also holds a Certificate in Executive Research from the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC), the international body that sets the standard for the executive search and leadership consulting profession.
Erin loves to learn about and build relationships with people from all around the world. She has spent time studying and living in France, India, Italy, Israel and Hong Kong, as well as across Canada. She loves learning about and celebrating the unique perspectives of people from all walks of life, and is a champion of diversity, inclusion & equity efforts in the workplace and beyond.
Before Erin entered the professional world, she grew up on the family grain farm outside of Kindersley, Saskatchewan. To this day, picking rocks for hours on end on the back of her dad’s pickup truck remains the hardest “job” she has ever held. She takes that prairie work ethic into each search and leadership consulting mandate she takes on.
Today, Erin actively volunteers in many areas of her church and as a Mentor with CRIEC, the Calgary Region Immigrant Employment Council. Her professional and community endeavours were recognized when she was named one of the “Top 35 under 35” in Canada’s energy sector in the July 2016 edition of Alberta Oil magazine.
When Erin is not in the office, she can be found spending time with friends and family, adventuring in the mountains, or diving into a new hobby. Sitting still is not one of Erin’s core strengths!
